ICAM supports the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program at Lockheed Martin


MONTREAL, December 5, 2003 - ICAM Technologies Corporation, the technology developer and supplier of the world’s most advanced NC post-processing software is pleased to announce that Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company Palmdale, CA has selected ICAM’s CAM-POST® to be implemented in support of the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program to manufacture the F-35.

Under the agreement, several of ICAM’s NC post-processing software products and services will be provided. These include CAM-POST ® V.15’s Advanced Multi-Axis Milling Development Package with High Speed Machining, NURBS & ARC Fitting technology. Custom development services, training and consultation were also selected to support Lockheed Martin’s High Precision, Multi-Axis Milling requirements.

ICAM’s innovative post-processing technology is seamlessly integrated with Dassault Systèmes CATIA ® V-5 CAD/CAM/CAE and will be used to fully optimize the advanced capabilities of the Siemens SINUMERIK ® 840D Motion Control System.

Lockheed Martin will also be incorporating and benefiting from the advanced developments for the 840D control which result from ICAM’s ongoing Cooperative Partnership initiatives with Siemens- see press release "ICAM and Siemens announce High Speed Machining Partnership" on our web site >>>

The F-35 JSF is the largest acquisition program in the US Department of Defense history. The program is a joint initiative of the US Navy, Marines, and Air Force. The F-35 JSF will be produced in three variants to meet the tactical roles required by the different military services: the F-35A, a conventional-takeoff-and-landing (CTOL) variant for the US Air Force; the F-35B, a carrier-based variant (CV) for the US Navy; and the F-35C, a short-takeoff/vertical landing (STOVL) version for the US Marine Corps. Together the three services are expected to receive about 2,900 aircraft starting in the year 2008. The United Kingdom Royal Navy and Royal Air Force are evaluating the STOVL variant and most other non-US buyers are expected to purchase the CTOL variant.
